Energy Healing Is NOT Self Help

There is a lot of confusion about energy healing around these days, and many people seem to think it's just a branch of the New Age self help movement. This is not true, and in this article we'll explore some of the differences between New Age self help and energy healing. It's important to understand the differences if one is to have a proper understanding of energy healing.

Energy healing is based on the truths that lay at the foundation of quantum physics. When you get right down to the tiniest building blocks of the universe, atoms and subatomic particles, it turns out that everything, no matter what form it takes, is made up of vibrating energy. A table, a book, a computer, a human being … if you could take them all apart and analyze them, you would find that deep down, at their core, they are made up of nothing but vibrating energy. Energy is the building block of all life in the universe, and it's that energy which forms the foundation of energy healing.

Contrast that with books like The Secret, which is nothing but New Age wishful thinking. A person can tell herself over and over that the universe is just a gigantic catalog, and if we want anything, anything at all, we only need to put in our request, and it will soon be ours, because of "the Law of Attraction ", etc. Well, the "Law of Attraction" is bunk. There's nothing scientific about it. Not only is it silly, it's also easy to prove wrong. If "the Law of Attraction" is so powerful that we can have anything we want by just thinking about it, then why is it that just after The Secret became a huge international mega-bestseller that the world economy went down the toilet? Some famous authors, such as Barbara Ehrenreich, have even noted this in their books about the follies of the New Age self help movement.
