  1. I just told my mom that I wanted to work on getting into nursing school, she pretty much told me that it was stupid and that I should just work on becoming a chef because I am good at it. I admit, to anyone looking in, it probably does seem very spur of the moment, but I have wanted to be a nurse since I was 15. Back then I got talked out of it by people saying that a guy couldn't be one, or people saying it was too expensive. So when I graduated high school I dual majored in music and culinary arts. The fact of the matter, is while I enjoy music, I suck at it and really don't want to do it professionally, for culinary arts, I am good at it but hate the industry and hate that I kind of have to put a fake mask on and pretend that that is really what I want to be doing.

Last year a friend from my culinary class died. We had only known each other for 16 weeks, yet we saw each other 3 days a week for 6 hours each day. I felt like we were pretty close considering the low amount of time we knew each other. I still remember the last conversation we had, we were both taking the same class with different professors, and discovered we had about 15min before class to talk.. A week later I got a late night text from a friend, she told me my friend had died earlier that day. I stayed up all night in denial, spent the next few days going between realizing he was actually gone, and then thinking maybe it was a sick joke.. I didn't go to his funeral and still have no idea how it happened. Ended up dropping out of my class and spent a lot of time thinking that semester.

I came to the conclusion that if he died out of nowhere at 20 doing what he loved, then there is no reason for me to not be doing what I actually want to do. I want to help people, because although I don't totally understand them, and most of the time struggle in social situations, I do deeply care about people and am good at putting myself in their shoes. I also have always been interested in the medical field, so nursing seems like the perfect fit for me. Finishing my music certificate this semester, but making the new goal of becoming a nurse. Currently doing a ton of research and studying during my stupid amount of free time while planning how I will actually pay the estimated $6k for school. My ultimate plan would be to get my ADN within the next 3 years, then work in the ICU while taking an ADN-BSN program, then from there I think I want to work on becoming a general NP, or family NP.

I have never wanted to work so hard on something in my life, and for the first time in forever, I truly feel like I am on the right path.

  2. Get yourself in the gym and never rely on the next man. Progression and pure passion,, hard work & and desire.!!!
The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking spaces. Good luck to ALL.!!!

  3. My parents have never been to school and they don't even know how to write their name. Being the first person to go to college is diffulcult but I can do it?

  4. Ok so I'm a freshman and I'm playing defensive tackle in football, I am the smallest lineman and everybody is putting me down because I'm small, because I'm weaker than them, I wanna prove them wrong so in 3 years I will come back here and i wanna tell everybody how I proved them wrong

  5. You can’t please everybody. Some of them will think that you are a loser. They have doubts about you in doing that thing. And there are other people who hate you and they don’t believe in you. Just prove them wrong and don’t give up on your dreams. Don’t allow those people put you down.

  6. you can say that i can't but i can so, if you can't do it then you're just a soda can giving people cancer.

    like if you can

if you can't like, then you really can't
