Questions to Ask Yourself When Undergoing Motivational Training

Going through a motivational training course will be the best thing you have ever done, but it may be the hardest thing you have ever done as well. There is a reason you need to undergo such a course-your lack of will and self-belief. In order to turn this around and slowly make your way towards true personal empowerment, you will have to be brutally honest with yourself. You have to ask yourself certain questions and do your best to answer them sincerely. To give you an idea of what kind of soul-searching you will encounter, here are five questions that you should be going over in your head:

1. Who are the most important people in my life?

Going through a motivational training course is not just about focusing on you, you, you. You will also need to consider who the most important people in your life are, and how you want to share your life with them. Personal empowerment need not be a solo affair, after all. You can strengthen who you are by being more motivated to do good things for the people you love. That is, of course, if you know who among your friends and family you should prioritize.

2. What have I done wrong?

This will undoubtedly be one of the hardest questions you will ever ask yourself, and whether you like it or not, you will have to answer it honestly sooner or later. Motivational training is not without its challenges! Face it: you acknowledged the need for personal empowerment and opted for this course because you are lacking in something. You did something wrong somewhere along the way, and now you have to own up to your mistake. Make this a moment of learning-something you will grow from rather than wallow in for the rest of your life.

3. What kind of motivation do I need?

You may have signed up for a course that is meant to help you get motivated, but did you ever think about what kind of push you needed in the first place? Before you can really jump into anything during your motivational training course, ask yourself first what kind of help would be most beneficial for you. Should it address an inner turmoil more, or should it focus on obstacles in your environment? Do you seek the kind of personal empowerment that can help you achieve lofty goals or humble hopes? Pin this down first to make the process go more smoothly.

4. Am I an introvert or an extrovert?

It’s true that everyone has both introverted and extroverted aspects of themselves, but one of these traits usually stands out more often than the other. Acknowledging whether you are more comfortable working on your lonesome or with others is crucial to your motivational training course, as this will determine what kind of motivation you will actually need. One man’s concept of personal empowerment may very well differ from another’s. One may think motivation means a push towards interacting with more people, while another may think that it means learning how to look inside oneself and not be so dependent on others. Go ahead and ask this question-there are no right or wrong answers!

5. What scares me?

More often than not, people lack motivation because they are afraid of something. They are afraid of experiencing failure or rejection, or are afraid to simply interact with other people, even. If you want your motivational training course to work well for you, then it’s time that you faced your fears. Whoever heard of gaining personal empowerment while still being frightened of certain things? If you’re truly motivated and empowered, nothing should get in your way! The first step to eradicating your fears is actually acknowledging them, so go ahead and do it!

The five questions you’ve just read may sound simple and easy enough to answer, but be careful! If you don’t take them seriously, you might steer yourself down the wrong direction as you go about your training. The bottom line is to be honest with yourself. If you are able to do that, then you are already one giant step ahead in terms of personal progress.
