There was a study done where they asked soldiers why they wanted to go to war… and the results showed that before actually being deployed most claimed they wanted to go to war because they wanted to protect the country they lived in, (somewhat of a selfish outlook, key work “they lived in”) but then they asked the soldiers involved in active fire fight, why do you put your lives at risk and fight back… and most answered because I know my team members would also do it for me… Imagine if in a situation like this people would be acting under the premise of just doing things because they are getting something in return??? There would be things like “bro you cornered again a wall by hostiles? Ok hang tight I am coming… nah never mind you didn’t want to share your water with me last week in training, good luck!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Very soon we would have no army… The moral of this story is that if you give expecting something in return, it’s not that people are bad hearted, it’s that you automatically are putting a subconscious energy to your interaction that people perceive as “opportunistic” to whatever situation that other person might be in, good or bad.. Which is somewhat ok, if you expecting your interaction to be a one transaction type basis, but really bad when attempting create true valuable long term rapport… Furthermore, the person only seeing you as a “I only do things with things I only see a return on” the day you need someone, will not necessarily even be aware of the fact, they may be able to help through something your struggling with because they haven’t been able to see the value you will bring them if they interject, leading you to be completely segregated and alone when you need it the most… True success in life is all about having a leadership mentality, be the one willing to go first to battle and the last to eat at the dinner table… and you will see how many people want to have your back when shit gets tough… Always do things expecting nothing in return and you will find yourself alone when you truly need it… 💪💪💪
