In this video a give a breakdown of the minimum standards each branch of the military requires for an individual to pass. I go in depth with a lot of it but also I still don’t cover every aspect. Just what i feel is necessary to give you a good comparison.

  1. didn’t want to talk about the CFT even though it is still a physical test or the swims that go on in the marines because he knows it’s the harder branch so he couldn’t talk about any of those huge factors because it shows the Army isn’t as trained

  2. Unpopular opionon, but i would want the best of the best on the field, not the best man or the best woman, whoever can do the best gets to go

  3. I can tell you this right now, in the Marine Corps, you better not do the minimum standard. I never even knew what the minimum standard was. You’re expected to do 100 crunches, 20 Pull-ups and 18 min 3 mile. You also have to do the CFT. So in my opinion there is no comparison with the other branches.

  4. FYI – The Coast Guard has a universal PF test. It consists of a 1.5 mile run, push ups and sit up which have to be done with a very specific technique. Each rate (job) within the coast guard go through rate specific training that requires individuals to meet the standards required to become that rate, however, during the annual PF test – the entire coast guard uses the same universal test. Additionally, individuals could opt out of the run and choose to do a swim test instead.

  5. Former Marine and a current Boston Marathon Qualifier, the last mile of a 3 mile (5k) is a HUGE deal. At 1.5 and 2 miles I can ignore acid build up and only worry about blood oxygen. Generally there is about a 30 second per mile difference in pace for every jump in a race tier.

To infer a 5k is easier than a 2 miler because of a pace differences is highly misleading.

  6. So Women do less work in the Test, but get Paid the same as Men… is this what they mean by the Pay Gap ?

  7. All branches have their different hardships. You have two different types of vets. The ones that act as if theirs is tougher than the others, which are assclowns. Then you have the ones that respect each branch.

  8. I think the corps has the hardest PT test cause every marine is a rifle man or machine gunner . not only that but the marine's are the first ones in and the last ones out.
    Seimper fi hoorraaa !!!

  9. The Marine Corps also has the swim test and Combat Physical Fitness Test..he didn't go in deep…the Marine Corps tests are harder…..we also have to stay in shape or get kicked out. Our Boot Camp is 3 months for Men. You make the call…..USMC.

  10. If certain tests are more difficult, is that a subtle way the branch tries to weed you out? I mean obviously unfit ppl shouldn’t be serving. But if a branch wants to get rid of ppl couldn’t they make pt insanely difficult?

  11. In the Navy if you only score satisfactory (minimum standards listed here) you will still be put in the FEP program and expected to improve 2 out of 3 events or you face discharge.
