  1. A treadmill a tanning bed a beauty angel red light stand a massage chair and the few machines i do ise are more then worth it to me not to have a few pieces of equipment that i probably wouldn't use anyways i mean im sure there are ways to work the same muscles out on different machines

  2. I'm a big, badass alpha male bodybuilder and I love Planet Fitness. They give the weak and unmotivated a place to go misuse equipment while posting selfies on their instagram accounts. I want those people in my gym about as much as Planet Fitness wants my jacked as fuck ass in theirs. Planet Fitness is marketed towards pussies who aren't emotionally capable of training balls to the wall. It's right there in their marketing catch phrase. "We're not a gym. We're Planet Fitness." No they sure as shit aren't a gym and if you wanted to join an actual gym and joined Planet Fitness it's obvious you fucked up. I don't care how cheap the memberships are, how convenient  the place is, I wouldn't care if they were next store to your house and you were boning the chick at the front desk. If you take your training seriously stay the hell out of Planet Fitness. You're not their marketing niche and it's quite clear they don't want you there so why even bother pulling into their parking lot? You're just wasting your time. Go find a  gym like Golds, LA fitness or powerhouse and train there. They have Olympic bars, squat racks, dozens of 45 pound plates, everything you need to get into a zone that's sure to get you banned for life from Planet Fitness and that's a beautiful thing.

  3. I love Planet Fitness. I do not know why people do not like it. I use it for my light days. You know you can do reps and actually build muscle. I am a member of two gyms so I use Planet Fitness so my high rep workouts and to my other gym for my power workouts.

  4. Ive been going to planet fitness now for a month and i go 5 days a week and i realy dont have any complaints for the price. as far as squats and bench press u have the smith machine. The only thing i dont like is that the barbell only go up to 60lbs.

  5. They don't want people who go to the gym 4-6 times a week? Well, they probably hate me because I hit that place 4-6 times a week! Why do I go? Because I like to work out at 10pm – 1amwhen no one else is around. So far, I haven't caught a steph infection, e coli or some other cooties as I've heard some people do at other gyms because they constantly clean up after themselves. I haven't had men follow me with their eyes as I move from machine to machine or try to "talk to me" while I'm running my sets. I have yet to see this pizza party that they mentioned or the dumbbells over 60 lbs being sheparded away! Mine doesn't have a squat rack but it has a Smith machine and I use that for my squats AND I slide a bench underneath it, load on weights and do my bench press that way. There are some things that I don't like about it (like they have machines for large muscle groups but not smaller muscle groups) but they do have most of what I need and anything else, I can do at home.
Overall, I can't imagine why people are complaining. If they think that Planet Fitness isn't for serious people and they aren't a member, then what do they care if PF exists or not? If anything, that frees up their gym because (if according to them-PF members are losers who don't want to work out) at least they won't find these types of people at their gym sitting on the machine that they wanted to use doing nothing but playing on their phone! PF has cleared the way for the "serious" bodybuilder. Send them a letter and tell them thank you! LOL!

  6. I have never been to PF. From what I have seen online here is my issue. It's a cheap gym. Some people can't afford a more expensive gym. It's easy to say "go to another gym"; when you can afford to do so. Some people can't afford to spend $40 a month for a gym membership. We have a fitness 19 here that is as cheap (or close to it) as PF. However they have a squat rack and other equipment found in real gyms. I am tempted to get a membership there. But for now I am working out at home and that seems to be working. However it would be nice to try some real deadlifts and squats.

  7. hey man , planet fitness helps all the gyms , a first timer will eventually get stronger and he most propably will seek a barbell sometime soon , u just cant keep milk them entlessly sometime they will calculate how much money they lost for just gettin some strength to mooove to a real gym and they will , PF doesnt steal any customers but instead brings customers and new blood to the industry we should all thank them

  8. I really don't get it. If PF doesn't suit your needs, go to a gym that does. Or better yet, try to help the people who "don't know what they are doing" rather than mocking them. Why put down people who either need the affordability or the beginners atmosphere? It's like going to McDonalds and complaining that they don't have steamed salmon and broccoli. Further, if everyone went to a "real gym" and got into "real shape" who would you be able to put down in the comment sections of silly youtube videos? See, there's always a silver lining. The video is kinda funny, though.

  9. So, PF is just aiming to get a specific target audience who does not train often and does not really want to go to a gym to pay to join a gym just to make themselves feel better because then they get to say they're going to a gym. That or people who do not know what they are doing who get suckered into going to PF and then not going often because no gains but not cancelling membership because it's so cheap.

In other words, PF is not really a gym. What it is it is a place unfit people rarely go to to feel good about themselves. It is also a place which gets people to become members and then keep paying because they don't care enough to cancel it.

That's genius! Why didn't I think about starting a business like this!? It's so obvious and so profitable and relatively easy to start up. Whoever came up with PF is a genius businessman.

  10. Isn't that a good thing? All the fitness youtubers are saying the bench press isn't the best for building chest anyway. Just use dumbells. Aren't all the gym chains in it for the money? Do you honestly believe the gym you go to cares about your health? They care about your money. I love Planet Fitness. It is very clean, the equipment is not abused and people always rack their weights when done.

  11. This is a Smith machine is not a bench press. I just joined planet fitness yesterday and I am dumping it today. This is not a real gym. Do your research folks.

  12. Think about all those New Years resoluion noobs who are going to curl in the squat rack. Planet Fitness keeps them out of my gym, and out of your gym. Thanks Planet Purple.

  13. I hate planet fitness. How was anyone never worked out before? How has any never exercised before? I’m truly flabbergasted. I exercise every single day a year! So how someone can even think “I’m not working out today” is beyond me. To me, you just say in shape. It’s not even something you even think about; you just do it. It’s the same as brushing teeth or bathing. You just do it and that’s it!

  14. Planet Fitness says that the don't judge, but yet judge people who actually try to build muscle through bench presses, Squats (barbell bar and their weight plates), over head press, deadlifts, barbell rows, etc. Planet fitness has a hypocrisy problem.

  15. I have a membership at both LA FITNESS and Planet Fitness. And because of my work schedule, LA is closed after hours, while most PF gyms are 24/7. When I first joined PF years ago, they had the bench press and squat rack, since they’ve updated their equipment every so often, the bench press and squat rack is hard to come by. But I work with what I have.

  16. Part of the problem is that Planet Fitness, similar to Starbucks, ends up putting local gyms out of business due to their competition, thus narrowing the options of gym goers. And of course, their marketing is simply obnoxious and kinda Orwellian and Marxist, so it invites criticism.
